Firsts

Firsts

This is my first post on our FamilyLife web site!

It’s kinda scary, and kinda exciting, but not as scary or exciting as making the decision to join FamilyLife.  It’s strange to find yourself in mid-life facing all kinds of firsts.  Somehow, you come to believe that by this time you’ve experienced most of your firsts:  job, house, baby.  By now, you’re settled and comfortable.  Maybe that’s the problem.  Fortunately, God is a problem solver.  He does not want us to be “comfortable and settled”.  We have time for that in eternity.  If you’re near my age (let’s say 40-ish), you know that your time here is short.  Why shouldn’t we be using it fully for the kingdom?  So, because God  loves us and cares about us, He will prompt us to move out of our comfort-zones in whatever way He chooses.

I don’t know how He is directing you, but our family is about to experience many more firsts.  I hope you’ll follow along as we share them with you, and I hope you’ll listen to the Lord and make your own leap of faith, however big or small.  First #1, write my blog post.  Scary, but not so bad, really.
